JESUS IS HORUS EXPOSED......

Today I will be exposing the Jesus and Horus comparison, commonly known from Zeitgeist. Gerald Massey is one of the originators of this ridiculous and fabricated comparison... He didn't even have a degree in Egyptology. Professional Egyptologists have largely held his writings in low regard in archaeological circles, to find references to him in reputable modern publications is unlikely. So it seems I'm going to have to debunk this "Jesus is Horus" claim point by point... Again, to mention, I was a Wiccan for 5 years before I became a Christian, so I am familiar with polytheistic pantheons, the stories of each mythology...

Point #1... "Born of a virgin"
The mother of Horus was the goddess Isis. Her husband, the god Osiris, was killed by his enemy Set, he later dismembered him. Isis managed to retrieve all of Osiris’s body parts except for his penis, which was thrown into the Nile and eaten by catfish as the myth goes. Isis used her goddess powers to temporarily resurrect Osiris and fashion a golden penis. She had sex with him and was then impregnated, and Horus was conceived. There was vaginal penetration, so Isis was not a virgin when she gave birth to Horus. Even if you want to say that it was a miraculous spiritual conception because of Osiris's penis was ate by a catfish... Isis and Osiris were already married before Osiris's death, Isis had already lost her virginity before Osiris's death.

Point #2... "Only begotten son of Osiris/Jehovah"
First of all, Jesus wasn't a literal Son to the Father. Jesus is the God of the Old Testament and Jesus is the Creator, this is revealed to us in the Scripture. This is an entirely new debate in of itself. If you want me to discuss the Godhead, I can. "Jehovah" is a title, it means, "Lord". Jesus is our Lord and Savior.

Also, some myths state that Osiris was the father of both Horus and Anubis. This is debatable.

Point #3... "Born on December 25th"
Again, Gerald Massey is the one that stated that "December 25th is the birthdate selected for Jesus based on the birth of Horus" but The Bible does not include any reference to December 25th or even the Winter as the birth of Jesus. A careful analysis of Scripture clearly indicates that December 25th is an unlikely date for Christ's birth. Shepherds were in the fields watching their flocks at the time of Jesus' birth. Luke:2:7-8. They weren't in the fields during winter.

Jesus' parents, Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem to register in a Roman census. Luke:2:1-4. These census would not have been done during winter because people would have to travel in cold weather on poor roads. To determine an exact date, we cannot do, but we can come to a close assumption...

Elizabeth (John the Baptist's mother) was in her 6 Month of pregnancy when Jesus was conceived. Luke:1:24-36. John's father, Zacharias, was a priest serving in the Jerusalem temple during the course of Abijah. Luke:1:5. This course of service corresponded to June 13-19 in that year. During his temple service, Zacharias learned that he and his wife would have a child. Luke:1:8-13. Once completed his service and traveled home, Elizabeth conceived. Luke:1:23-24. John's conception took place near the end of June, adding 9 Months brings us to the end of March as the most likely time for John's birth. Adding another 6 Months... Since Jesus was conceived 6 Months after John... Brings us to the end of September as the likely time of Jesus' birth.

Earliest known sources recognizing December 25th as the date of Jesus' birth is by Hippolytus of Rome, early 3rd century. Rome was undergoing a transition from Roman Paganism into "Christianity" or technically Roman Catholicism since Catholicism is a Pagan-Christian Hybrid. Pagans Worldwide commonly worship the spring and fall equinoxes, summer and winter solstices. Hippolytus placed the equinox on March 25th as Mary's conception and then added 9 months to get December 25th, thus establishing the date we know now as Christmas. In truth, December 25th has always been a Pagan holiday historically at the founding of Paganism by King Nimrod and Queen Semiramis.

Roman pagans first introduced the holiday of Saturnalia, a week long period of lawlessness celebrated between December 17-25.  During this period, Roman courts were closed, and Roman law dictated that no one could be punished for damaging property or injuring people during the weeklong celebration. The festival began when Roman authorities chose “an enemy of the Roman people” to represent the “Lord of Misrule.”  Each Roman community selected a victim whom they forced to indulge in food and other physical pleasures throughout the week.  At the festival’s conclusion, December 25th, Roman authorities believed they were destroying the forces of evil by brutally murdering an innocent man or woman.

In the 4th century CE, Christianity imported the Saturnalia festival hoping to take the pagan masses in with it. Constantine and Christian leaders succeeded in converting Pagans to "Christianity" by promising them that they could continue to celebrate the Saturnalia on December 25th as "Christians" since, "Jesus was born on this day." Saturnalia is the Birth of the Sun... And "Christians" told Pagans that Christmas is the Birth of the Son. Simple transition. Every pagan pantheon has a sun god... Apollo in Greek pantheon, Amaterasu in Japanese pantheon, in Roman pantheon, etc. etc.

Horus is known as the Sun god in the Egyptian pantheon. King Nimrod who is the original "sun god" from Babylon, he originated this practice of sun and moon worship. King Nimrod's birthday was December 25th and that has carried on as a festival in every pagan pantheon as the birth of the sun god. December 25th is a pagan holiday, not a Christian one. Pagans celebrate the solstices, not Christians. The only reason Christians today celebrate December 25th is because of the Catholic Church that used it as a tool to convert Roman Pagans into Roman Catholicism.

Point #4... "Three Witnesses"
The Bible says nothing specifically about three wise men. It just mentions wise men, the plural number is not defined. Matthew 2:1 - Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,"

Point #5... "Herut/Herod tried to have Horus/Jesus murdered"
Gerald Massey has stated that The Biblical references to Herod the Great were based on the myth of Herrut, the problem with this claim is that Herod is not a parallel myth... His existence is Historic from non-Biblical sources. Proof that Herod the Great lived can be proven without reliance on any Christian sources. Herut, however, has no non-mythological sources.

Point #6... "Anup/John baptizes Horus/Jesus"
There is no character named Anup the Baptizer in ancient Egyptian Mythology. This is the concoction of Gerald Massey and this is why professional Egyptologists have largely ignored his bastardized writings.

Even if we turn Anup into Anubis, who was an Egyptian god of tomb protection and mummification... Even asserting that Anubis baptized Horus is an empty statement because there is no authentic writings or depictions of Anubis baptizing Horus.

I also do not recall Anubis being beheaded.
Point #7... "Satan temps Jesus/Seth attempt to kill Horus"
So now we're connecting Set with Satan, but earlier we were connecting Seth with Joseph. Did Jesus ever battle with Joseph in the Gospels? No. Doing battle is different from being tempted, Set attempted to kill Horus. Satan never attempted to try and kill Jesus. Set attempts to kill Horus, they battle in the desert. While Jesus is tempted to submit in the wilderness by Satan. (Matthew 4, Mark 1:12-13, Luke 4:1-13.)
The relationship between Horus and Seth in Egyptian Mythology was quite different than the relationship between Jesus and Satan. Seth and Horus were battling rivals with each other, but they reconciled. There is never any reconciliation between Jesus and Satan.
Apparently a "pharaoh" was a “Horus reconciled to Seth, or a gentleman in whom the spirit of disorder had been integrated” because Egypt was unified. - Oxford Guide to Egyptian Mythology.
Point #8... "12 Disciples"
In Egyptian Mythology... There are indications of the four Sons of Horus, there is also six demigods who followed Horus, but never any mention of 12 distinct followers. Gerald Massey, once again, is the one who arrived at the claim that Horus had 12 followers, he assumes this by referencing the mural of "The Twelve who reap Harvest" but Horus is not depicted in this mural. So how Massey connected these twelve reapers as being Horus' followers is not clear why he made such an assumption.
Point #9... "Horus'/Jesus' Miracles"
Oh my gosh... These comparisons are so far-fetched. In Egyptian mythology, Horus is poisoned by Seth and brought back to life by the god Thoth at the request of his mother, Isis. The ancient Egyptians used this spell described on The Metternich Stella monument. It was believed that the spirit of Horus would dwell within the sick, and they would be cured the same way he was as the myth goes. No where in the mythology does Horus travel the countryside laying his hands on sick people and restoring them to health.
Point #10... "Horus raised his father Osiris from the dead.
As I mentioned earlier, Set killed Osiris and he was briefly brought back to life by his wife Isis, in order for her to have sex with Osiris and conceive Horus. It was not Horus who raised Osiris from the dead. It was his mother, Isis.
Point #11... "Asar” translates to “Lazarus.”
"Asar" is an alternative name for "Osiris", this is correct. "Osiris" is a Greek translation of the Egyptian name, "Asar". Translated into Hebrew, this is "El-Asar"... "Lazarus" in Hebrew is translated as "Eleazar" meaning, "God has helped." Eleazar does not equal El-Asar. Jesus raised Eleazar from the dead. Horus didn't raise El-Asar from the dead. Jesus does not equal Horus.
Point #12... "Horus/Jesus Crucified"
There is only mention of depictions of Horus standing in cruciform, not actually being crucified. Within Egyptian Mythology there is no mention that Horus was crucified. Meanwhile we have evidence from non-Christian sources that the Romans around the time of Christ practiced crucifixion as a form of capital punishment and that Jesus of Nazareth was a man who was crucified. There is no historical evidence at all to suggest that the ancient Egyptians made use of this type of punishment nor that Horus was crucified in reality nor in fiction.
Point #13... "Resurrection announced by women"
Wow... What are the chances it'd be announced by women... 50/50. Again, look at the Metternich Stella. The child Horus dying and being brought back to life is not really comparable to Jesus. Jesus did not die as a child, nor did his mother bring him to an animal-headed god named Thoth to raise him from the dead. Thoth is most likely the one to announce the resurrection of the child, it is not determined exactly in the Metternich Stella. Even so... Horus' resurrection announced by women which isn't confirmed but even if it is so, this happened when he was a baby. Jesus' resurrection was announced by women when He was an adult.
The list is much longer, but these are the key points I hope will help to keep people's faiths firm in Lord Jesus and His Holy Word. May He bless you, my brothers and sisters.

  1. Sorry girls your thesis doesn't stand up obviously Zeitgeist was an Illuminati red herring but as I am Jesus and Osiris and Horus the fact that Jesus was Horus remains good to go.

  2. Another fact is that Isis Aset Shemsu was Mary Magdalene Jesus's wife the same as Horus who married his Mother Isis then beheaded her and ran off with Hathor who was the virgin Mary. Jesus and Mary had a daughter Sarah.
