TRUTH ABOUT HELL......

I could also have called this annihilationism exposed, but I will be covering many different topics about hell besides the false doctrine of annihilationism. I will be discussing many questions people have about Hell. Is Hell eternal? Is Hell a trash dump? Does Hell even exist at all? Does Hell have different levels of heat/torture? Does God want people to go to Hell? Who created Hell? What are the differences between Hell and the Lake of Fire? I will be answering all of these questions and more in this article…

Is Hell eternal?

Yes. How can there be an eternal prize, but not an eternal punishment? We see God’s heart poured out that He wishes for all men to be saved, but not all mankind accepts the gift of salvation (grace) resulting in their own damnation.

Ezekiel 33:11 ~ Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

1 Peter 3:9 ~
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Titus 2:11-14 ~
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14
Who gave himself for us, that he MIGHT redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

The grace of God has appeared to all men… Not all men accept God’s grace though. Notice in verse 14, that He MIGHT redeem us. Not that He WILL redeem us, that He might redeem us. Because not all have accepted His grace. Not all deny ungodliness, deny worldly lusts, not all are living soberly, righteously and godly… Not even professing believers. So even the lukewarm will spend eternity in Hell.

Revelation 3:15-16 ~
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Matthew 7:19 ~ Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Matthew 7:21-23 ~
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Where are the wicked spat out? Where do the wicked depart? Hell.

Matthew 25:41 ~
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

It was intended to only be for the devil and his angels, because again God does not want any human to perish in hell, but sadly many choose hell by not accepting His grace.

If you read Luke 16:19-31 you will see the testimony of the Rich Man and Lazarus.

Luke 16:9 ~ And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

Luke 16:22-25 ~
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

We see a testimony of rich man who went to hell and Lazarus who went to Heaven. What more can I say? The Bible makes a clear point that there is an eternal hell. From here on, I will just be listing all Scripture that I am aware of that further proves this point that Hell is eternal.

Isaiah 33:14 ~
The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

Matthew 3:12 ~
Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Matthew 18:8 ~ Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast
them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

Matthew 25:41 ~
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Matthew 25:46 ~

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life
 eternal.

Mark 3:29 ~ But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of
 eternal damnation:

Mark 9:43-48 ~
43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: 48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Luke 16:9 ~ And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

2 Thessalonians 1:9 ~
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Jude 1:7 ~
Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Is Hell a trash dump?

There are those who, in an attempt to prove their point that there is no eternal hell, but since there are so many scriptures describing and mentioning eternal hell they take the Hebrew and Greek translations to state their theory that there isn’t a literal hell, but rather by translation try to teach that hell is a mere trash dump.

The Old Testament, “Sheol” and the New Testament, “Gehenna”…

Strong’s H7585 ~ Sheol; underworld, grave, hell, pit
A.            the underworld
B.            Sheol - the OT designation for the abode of the dead
Place of no return
Without praise of God
Wicked sent there for punishment
Righteous not abandoned to it
Of the place of exile (fig)
Of extreme degradation in sin

שְׁאוֹל shʼôwl, sheh-ole'; or שְׁאֹל shʼôl; from H7592 hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranean retreat), including its accessories and inmates:—grave, hell, pit.

Strong’s G1067 ~ “Hell is the place of the future punishment called ‘Gehenna’ or ‘Gehenna of fire’. This was originally the valley of Hinnom, south of Jerusalem, where the filth and dead animals of the city were cast out and burned; a fit symbol of the wicked and their future destruction.”

γ
εννα géenna, gheh'-en-nah; of Hebrew origin (H1516 and H2011); valley of (the son of) Hinnom; ge-henna (or Ge-Hinnom), a valley of Jerusalem, used (figuratively) as a name for the place (or state) of everlasting punishment:—hell.

God was giving a visual to what the eternal punishment to come would be like; burning and where the worms are.
It smoldering provided the perfect imagery for an eternal punishment, even though I’m sure nowhere on earth can truly compare, but it was the closest at the time.

Does Hell exist?

Yes. That is evident from the last question by Biblically proving Hell is eternal, since Hell is eternal than it must in fact exist. Many have testified of seeing visions of Hell, my husband actually being one of them… These visions of Hell have brought many to repentance.

Does Hell have different levels of heat/torture?

This is Biblically debatable… I personally believe so, but would not be contentious over the issue for discussion so I will present both viewpoints.

James 2:10 ~ For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

However, this doesn’t mean that God views all sins equally. It simply means that the guilt of the person breaking one point is equally guilty of all. Disobedience is disobedience and un-repentance is un-repentance.

Psalm 86:13 ~ For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

Deuteronomy 32:22 ~ For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

Matthew 23:14 ~ Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

Revelation 20:4-6 ~ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

A greater damnation and different points of hell, low or high is an indication to me that there are different levels, different reward for the level of wickedness or righteousness indicated above in Revelations when talking about the martyrs.

Does God want people to go to Hell?

No. As already stated…

Ezekiel 33:11 ~ Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

1 Peter 3:9 ~ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

God came and died for a reason, to save the world.

John 3:16-18 ~
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Where is Hell located?

Is it beneath the earth or is it a different dimension?

Matthew 12:40 ~ For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Ephesians 4:9 ~
(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Scientifically, The Earth is made up of four layers… The Crust, Mantle, Outer Core, and Inner Core. It is 3,959 miles to the center of the Earth. The Inner Core is made of solid metal, the outer core of liquid metal. It is estimated that temperatures at the core is 10,800 Degrees Fahrenheit. An interesting description to consider with the alignment of Biblical description.

It’s interesting to mention going back to the lowest point of hell (Psalm 86:13 & Deuteronomy 32:22) which could line up with the 4 layers of the Earth.

Numbers 16:30-33 ~
30 But if the Lord make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the Lord. 31 And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them: 32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. 33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.

Revelation 9:1-3 ~ And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter the location of Hell, but what is important is that Hell is eternal separation from The Lord in unquenchable fire.

Who created Hell?

Some would say God and some would say Satan… Some would even say that the earth created indirectly created Hell because of the wickedness on the surface and the earth naturally trying to purify itself.

Leviticus 18:25 ~ And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

Many saying this is why there are more natural disasters in this day and age versus years ago, because there is more wickedness abounding.

In any case, the Bible doesn’t give a clear cut answer to this question.

Matthew 25:41 ~ Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

I personally doubt that satan created his own prison though, arguementively, hell isn’t Satan’s prison, the Lake of Fire is. And we see that even though we choose Hell, it is God that tells us to depart into Hell as we read in Matthew 7:21-23 and Revelation 3:15-16.

Luke 12:4-5 ~
And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Unlike popular culture that depicts Satan’s Kingdom as Hell… We see Biblically that Satan is called the, “Prince of this world” not the prince of Hell.

John 12:31 ~
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

John 14:30 ~
Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

Matthew 4:8-11 ~
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

To argue… We see that Hell is described as a rivaling kingdom…

Matthew 16:18 ~ 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

We see that Satan is not in Hell, but upon the earth…

Genesis 3:1-5 ~
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil

Job 1:7  ~
And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

1 Peter 5:8 ~ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Revelation 12:9 ~
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Satan cast to the earth and been trying to deceive and lead souls to Hell since Genesis 3.

We clearly see that Satan is trying to bring souls to Hell, because God doesn’t want souls going to Hell.

Zechariah 3:2 ~ And the LORD said unto
Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

Matthew 13:39 ~
The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

Mark 4:15 ~ And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard,
Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

Luke 22:31 ~ And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold,
Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

2 Corinthians 2:11 ~ Lest
Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

1 Timothy 5:15 ~ For some are already turned aside after
 Satan.

2 Timothy 2:26 ~
And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of thedevil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

So it is Satan trying to “Take as many out with him” because he knows he has little time.

Revelation 12:12 ~ Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

What are the differences between Hell and Lake of fire?

Hell is where the wicked dead go to await judgment and Lake of Fire is final destination.

Revelation 20:14 ~ And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Same as Abraham’s Bosom (Luke 16:19-31) so to speak. Because we see the righteous are also awaiting.

Revelation 6:9-10 ~
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

So the wicked dead are waiting for final judgment of being thrown into the Lake of Fire along with the one who deceived them, satan, because they were blind by their own self-gratification.  And the righteous dead are waiting for Heaven to be on earth once again. The New Heaven and the New Earth only being regeneration by God’s Spirit purifying the Earth. Heaven is only Heaven because of God’s Holiness, so when Christ comes to purify and dwell on the Earth with His saints… That is Heaven.

I pray I will see you there. God bless.
